2023 Award Eligibility Post

It’s about that time again somehow. I’ve felt a bit out of the loop on the sff short market lately as I decided to write a novel over the summer and have been querying that. But: here goes nothing! Below are selected original pieces that came out this past year that folks might consider.

*I’m including a few things that came out very late in 2022 just in case. For pieces still forthcoming, I’ll update the links as they become available.

“Dissection at Lake Geneva” was published in the Fall 2023 Issue of MASKS Literary Magazine (a speculative take on Mary Shelley’s inspiration…)

“Of Salt and Specters” was published in Provenance Journal in 2023

“Like Footprints in the Snow” was published in Wyldblood on April 28, 2023 (a robot companion and its young charge have a heart-to-heart)  

“The Revolution of Olena” was published in Intrepidus Ink on February 8, 2023  (alt-Cold War era survival)

“Lilith Discovers Eve at the Goodwill Store” was published in Myriad: Remnants on January 16, 2023 (a queer love story for the ages…)

“A Rectifiable Arc” was published in Kaleidotrope on January 1, 2023 (a female mathematician’s coming of age story)

“On Disappearing” was the Runner Up in The Gateway Review’s Fabulist and Fantastic Flash Fiction Contest and was published in January 2023 (a mysterious tale of loss and memory)

“Ursa Major” came out in All Worlds Wayfarer on December 21, 2022 (a mother’s love knows no bounds)
